Before I went on holiday I planted some delphinium seeds.
Being cheap I used recycled compost . So not sure if these are delphiniums or weeds . Have left two lots does anyone know which if any are delphiniums?
Secondly have a big sort of plant growing I suspect it's a muggle weed ( or some name like that ) but could it be delphinium?
I flung seed about all over the place .
I used to have a patch of Delphiniums a few years ago, they looked very like these. All you can do is wait and see. Fingers crossed you soon see wee blue flower heads.
Muddy the plant on the right hand picture among the forget-me-nots is certainly a delphinium , the other too I think.
I don't know about 'muddle weed' that must be a local name..
I don't know Meg I now think it might be a Mugwort ( I got the name muddled ) I went to the garden centre today and it didn't look like the delphiniums there .
My gardening friend says the others are fever few - I do have a lot in my garden .oh well I will give them all a bit longer.
Hi Muddy I have delphiniums in my garden and the plant on the right certainly looks like one .
The one on the left could be feverfew which is a yellowy green.

I vote that it’s a delphinium. It’s outer edges cut in deep to create the classic delphinium pattern whereas the Mugwort doesn’t have that. Plus the edges are sharper.
That’s one reason why I don’t like reusing potting soil.
