Counting

Do you ever count your steps as you walk?
I sometimes count silently in my head if im nervous or worried or if there is something in the vicinity to count then I will silently count that instead.

My elderly Aunt (whos now deceased) was a counter as well....she would count lots of things.

Dont tell me im going mad lol .....does anyone else do this? (bit afraid to ask now lol )

Re: Counting

Don't count my steps but will on the odd occasion watch where I am walking and mutter . “step on a nick, you’ll marry a brick and a beetle will come to your wedding.”

I Know....I am losing it .

Re: Counting

Aysa until I bought my pedometer I counted out a mile (2250 for me) if I was on a new walk , I like to walk 2-3 miles a day in good weather.

Re: Counting

I do the counting thing sometimes, usually when out walking. I count backwards when I can't sleep and do the alphabet and months backwards - think I bore myself to sleep - perhaps we all do it..

Re: Counting

It's somehow reassuring to count. A good use is at the dentist. If it starts to hurt, start to count and concentrate on counting slowly and deliberately till the pain goes. It doesn't usually take very long.

Re: Counting

When I come down the stairs in the dark in the morning I count the number of steps.
