Hi
I have the highest regard for proper tradesmen, of which there are several on this forum.
I know my limits, I can calculate the size of foundations, structural beams etc etc.
As for actually doing it, forget it.
Barry would be in despair at my joinery, Tpin would be horrified with my brickwork.
Judd would burst out laughing at the tangle of wires under my marine aquarium, well either that or he would be suicidal.
I restore antique furniture, it takes me ages, but I find it relaxing.
No broken bits of wood, but I can square it all up, get rid of ring stains and then I re polish it.
I can also decorate, takes me ages, loads of masking tape, but a good job.
I know my limits.
A good tradesman I will happily pay for.
