There's plenty of those kind of sites around now. I'm happy with this one as I enjoy relatively intelligent conversation, not talking about if I had my toast with marmalade or jam on it today. Why does somebody in Eastern Tibor want to know about that and why would I want 13,478 likes for saying it?

I don't know what people expect; if it is free you are the product not the customer. However I quite like Facebook.Personally I have my privacy setting to "Friends only", I have very little in "About Me" certainly nothing later than 1989, I never 'Like' anything public, never take part in quizzes or click on clickbait. While that may not be foolproof it works for me

I have a Facebook profile but I hardly ever use the site..... so does anybody know why the world and his wife want to be my friend?
Every time I look at my Facebook I have to delete hundreds of friend requests, from total strangers, and the constant requests to use Facebook facilities more!
It is almost as bad as the phone calls asking me if I have made a PPI claim!

Living alone, I find Fb an ideal way of keeping in touch, particularly with the specialist closed groups to which I belong, and family and friends who I have not seen for years.
