greenhouse project in pictures

Just to mention about 35 bags of rubbish and about 10/15 trips to the dump with trailer or just back of car

Re: greenhouse project in pictures

Nice job... what are you glazing it with? What are you planning to grow in it?

I've just finished my greenhouse. It was once my neighbour's but it was ruined in a storm and after he moved, the new neighbour was just going to dump the remains. I rescued what glass I could and cut the frame to make a 6' x 3'3" 'lean to' . I cut the glass to size and had enough to re-glaze it .

I must get a pic of it. Dianne has plans to grow chillis in it.

Lot of parts we put on wrong way on the greenhouse so spent since 8am putting right and drilling to fit frame to base. Got a lot more bits to put together it is a real sod to make

Thanks for belated birthday wishes all

Re: greenhouse project in pictures

Project greenhouse all but complete except for waiting for 2 replacement sheets of toughened glass next week. One just shattered as I touched it.
Otherwise all glass fitted now, and am I glad it has been a very long journey.

Don't want to do it again ever , this one was a real headache

Re: greenhouse project in pictures

Before

After

There you are Heather, deliberately had the light reflection on the glass to prove it had glass in it

1 =So it was taking down old log store
2=clearing away about 30/40 bags of rubble /roof tiles etc
3 =-the wood part of the structure to dump 8x4 trailer full
4=- getting the paving slabs 8 x96 lb in weight each
5=Digging down for foundation
6= getting and mixing sharp sand and cement for foundations
7= cutting 2 slabs in half to make base width needed
8= laying and levelling slabs
9= sorting out all the metal strip parts of greenhouse
10= putting down meatel base
11= actual skeleton build
12= squaring and levelling everything not even a mm to be out of true
13= inserting glass roof and sides
14 =checking doors run smooth (one still to adjust)

On top of that there was next doors tree branch to cut down
making brick path wider by digging out grass and laying bricks on sharp sand.

As well as all that we were limited to just 6 bags(25kg each) of rubble to the local council tip a month so we went to two tips as well. that took more trips than I care to even think about.

Very nice indeed, neat job! It does look like it might have a bit of a fiddle to get it all to fit together!

We'll all be waiting to see it when it's all planted up!
