Removing Sellotape marks

I have some awful sticky marks on my front door where I used Sellotape to stick a note for the mailman.

Does anybody know how I can remove them please?

Try the old favourite - vinegar.

Failing that, white spirit or lighter fluid; I always have White Spirit handy in the shed.

I found lighter fluid is also great for removing rust off chrome fittings too! stevmk2

Any sort of common solvent - paraffin, white spirit, petrol, applied with a rag.
Followed by window cleaner spray or soapy water to clean off the solvent

Thanks everybody. The only thing I had to hand was nail varnish remover so I gave it a go. Pleased to say it did the trick.

Either spray polish or hair lacquer often removes the remains of glue as well.
