Unbelievable, he has got a problem and is in denial. His football career is in decline and previous excesses, widely reported in media, suggest he needs help. He looks stressed and out of his depth.

Re: Rooney charged with drink driving

Former England captain Wayne Rooney has appeared in court and admitted drink-driving.

The 31-year-old was banned from driving for two years and ordered to perform 100 hours of unpaid work as part of a 12-month community order.

Rooney was also ordered to pay £170 when he appeared at Stockport Magistrates' Court.

Rooney's lawyer, Mike Rainford, told the court it was likely that Everton would fine the player two weeks' wages, which the BBC understands to be about £300,000.
Not a lot of money, in either case, but he'll no doubt still be getting a lot of earache from Coleen after she's likely to lose £300,000 because of the woman she's labelled a "fame-seeking slapper".

Hi

It is the unpaid work which appeals to me.

I am sure we could find some fatbergs in the sewers for him to clean out by hand.

Perhaps a nice F and V, a body lain there for weeks.

It would be nice for him to see how others earn their living.

He's a bloke that got caught....nothing more, nothing less.

Money has nothing to do with it nor does his job....an idiot is an idiot.

I bet there's a court case, somewhere in the country, where a drunk has killed or maimed somebody that will only make the local news.

Hi

I agree Tpin, however the punishment must fit the crime.

A driving ban and a 100 hours would be devastating for some.

He can afford a driver and his new Insurance Premiums without breaking a sweat.

To someone on NMW a 100 hours is a fortune.

It is not Rooney I am after, even though I do not like him personally.

He is a very different person from Beckham, who for all his faults, is always polite and friendly.

It is the system I find at fault.

They both could do with a spell of reality.

I have the same issues with MP's.

I would love to see Boris, Gove and Corbyn and Abbott really working for a living.

In your terms, keeping up with a gang of brickies on a cold day.

In my terms, cleaning up after a weeks old body.

The fine isn't an issue with me.....it would be if there weren't points added to your licence.

The community service and points doesn't discriminate, we are all equal in the eye's of the law or should be.

Swims I know people who have dealings with Wayne Rooney and he is also quiet and friendly .
He is a generous philanthropist too.
It is when he has drink taken that things go wrong and every fame hungry trollope tries for her five minutes of fame .
He is an idiot but if everyone was locked up for that the jails would be full to the ceilings.
