The last thing we need is Clegg in the Lords promoting his book in how how not to leave the EU .

He rightly lost his seat in the general election and is now being given a chance to sneak back into a position of power by the back door.

Just proves once again that the honours system is an absolute farce. Most of the time homours are dished out to people just for being famous and nothjng else, if there was ever a system that wanted scrapping, (along of course with the HOLords) it is this one.

It was bad enough when Samantha Cameron's hairdresser got an award, but for Clegg to get a K has just about shit the pot full, being a slimy, anti - democratic, anti - British failed MP

Just as universities & degrees have been devalued and abused, so has the honours system, and undermines the value of those who have made genuine contributions to science, industry, society & community

The entire peers & honours system needs, at the very least, a serious overhaul

I agree with Barry, the whole thing now is a farce and needs scrapping, also Lords, if anything was a money pit , the " House of Lords " must be costing now close on £100 million per year!!!. put that against the cost of the Royal family about £40 million. I think I know who is best value for money.
What does the U K get out of the Lords other than opposition to Bills that the really have no idea what they are about.

What on earth has this creep done to be nominated for a Knighthood? There are far more people out there more deserving Nigel Farage for a start. Whoever nominates people for Knighthoods must be a cell sort of a brain!!

And to add insult to injury, his book about turning back `Brexit` has been voted into first place on the HoC reading list. Just goes to show where their loyalties lie.

People get ennobled for bunging the Tory party a lot of money. Clegg was the leader of a political party and the deputy Prime Minister in the coalition. I would say CVlegg is the more deserving by light years, whatever you might think fo his politics. And certainly more deserving than Farage who seems to be very upset at not having his virtues (neo-fascism, lying, self-publicity, hypocrisy, etc, etc) officially recognised.
