Only one. When I met my wife she had just turned 17 and I was 19. We were engaged at 19 and 21 ( I even did the kneeling thing )
, and married 6 months later at the same age. In our 80's now we just passed our 62nd anniversary last month.

Got engaged at the age of 18, stayed with each other for 1 year then we realised that we were to young and we both wanted different things out of life, so called it off, got engaged again when I was 23 and married to my Husband at the age of 26.

Just the once!I managed to dodge any other proposals as l never really wanted to settle down!
My life in my twenties was spent mostly partying and the last thing l wanted, was to be engaged!
My mother being a legal secretary dealing in divorces used to tell me not to settle down at a young age!
She said, never trust the overly romantic men who sent the big slushy Birthday cards as they were the worst for infidelity!!

Just before I married in 1969, my father and husband to be had to go to the Royal Court in my home island so my father's responsibility for me was passed over to my intended spouse. This was done if a girl hadn't reach the age of majority, I was 19 when I married. I wasn't required at the court nor was my mother!
