Well Missy darlin' if a few trees do come down and block the roads, what better excuse is there for not going to work at all???

Its a nautical expression Sweetie darlin' - ashore you have doors and windows - just ensure the doors and windows are firmly closed.

There’s always another route

It’s just a pain if the trees bring down power cables, then we have to wait till they can get a generator up and running before we can get the orders out. Could mean a very long day that’s all
