Bear Rescues in Vietnam

Yes, I'm back on a mission.. just for those who might be interested.

Animals Asia do outstanding work and Jill Robinson, who heads the team was awarded an MBE for her work in 2017.

Some people think that charities are only there to take money from us, in many respect that is true and without it they could not continue providing the huge amount of medical care , but they also ask for our support in different ways and the power of unity is just as powerful as any other form of support.

This year they have rescued many bears from such places , a couple were not strong enough to survive for very long after their rescue but most others are doing really well, despite many afflictions they have suffered.

First link is best not to be viewed if you feel a bit squeamish, as I know some do. It shows different images of methods on how bile is extracted from bears,

These Six bears were rescued a month ago and here is an update on the progress they are making since reaching the sanctuary.

Re: Bear Rescues in Vietnam

I've known about these 'Bile Bears' for some time Puddles.
There is nothing I can say to display my feelings for the unbelievable way of life these beautiful animals are made to endure at the hands of man again.

It's hard to understand Mups, but it pleases me that due to the internet , the world has opened up and these dreadful traditions are being exposed , and their end supported by the masses.

It is our duty to speak for the animals, all tortured animals, and help where and when we can. So much effort and dedication is going into this, and we need to understand that they can have a peaceful life eventually and one day maybe no more captive wild animals. We also need to ensure that the next generation will eventually be able to step in and continue the tremendous legacies of dedication which will be left by such people as Jill Robinson.

If anyone wants to see more, read on, but I warn you it is not for the faint hearted.
I confess I did not read all the gory details myself.

Re: Bear Rescues in Vietnam

Thanks for posting that, Mups. An insight into what really happens to them.

On a lighter note, this is a sanctuary in Vietnam where rescued bears can recover and splash in the pool together.

Very gentle footage.
