Are Christmas Hampers An Overpriced Load Of Rubbish?

I have received two hampers for Christmas and some of the stuff l have tasted out of them is horrible!!

Have you found the same or am l just ungrateful?

No you are right, twice before when receiving a hamper have to admit quite a few items went in the bin.

These were from high end stores, so probably too rich for me or an acquired taste.

I have never received a 'hamper' but used to make one up for my Mother in Law (a decorated cardboard box) with my own marmalade/jam/mince pies/a ham /bottle of wine/pork pie /biscuits and a cake

Never had any complaints

No never had one.

But I have made my own Hampers up for my MIL with all things she likes and at half the price.

Once the shredded paper is removed, you could fit the contents into a shoe box. The best hampers are the ones you make up yourself although they can look a bit like a food parcel.
