Drama's on TV
Most of the Dramas and Soap Box programmes on TV depict families who are tacking drugs, or abusing alcohol , committing crimes or are ….fornicating.Surely the whole of society is not like that?
Why can’t we see stable families who live pleasant life with the usual day to day problems that do not include the above.? Just happy families doing things together and without any nudity?
Probably too boring

That's exactly it, too boring. We know not all families are alcoholics or drug abusers but the alternative you suggest does not appeal to script writers.The soaps are meant to reflect real life and as there are both alcoholics and drug abusers in real life that is what they depict.

It's all called entertainment. There has to be something which will attract the viewer and keep them watching. If that means sex, violence, swearing and so on then that's all based on events in real life to varying degrees.If somebody made an eight-season boxed set about a family featuring a woman with a fluffy cat, a man tending his tomato plants and two cherubic children playing bat and ball, it may lose the interest of the more discerning, attention-hungry viewer somewhat.
