The Royal family are a figurehead, a form of tourist attraction I suppose. As to the sums, it would be interesting to see revenue created over expenses.

It doesn't seem to take much nowadays to become 'famous' and achieve celebrity status.
Television reality show cast, Sports personalities, the many that fall under the umbrella term Celebrity. Do they really earn their title and its rewards.
Would those millions be better off channelled into equipping hospitals and paying for more doctors, more research funding ?
Worth is what is valued and in a society where so much is superficial and disposable, common sense and justice struggle for survival.

Why exactly are the RF a tourist attraction ?
No one visits Britain to have tea with the Queen or go round Buck House guided by any of the other .
They come for our castles and other antiquities .

People have lost trust and respect for politicians, monarchy is above that.
