Re: How Loud Do You Sing Hymns At A Wedding Or A Funeral?

I haven't been to a church wedding since.....1972 and I didn't sing then!

As for funerals.....last one was 2010 and no singing involved as it was a humanist ceremony. Previous to that it was my parents funerals and I didn't sing then either.

Re: How Loud Do You Sing Hymns At A Wedding Or A Funeral?

It’s been so long since I sang in a church but when I sing I’m singing bold and proud. I’ve never sang at a funeral and don’t think I ever would, unless of course I was personally asked to.
They’re so sad.

Some very funny replies!

I am blessed with a good voice and I love to sing, so I sing up nice and strong.
The theory is it encourages others to join in if there are a few strong voices

Re: How Loud Do You Sing Hymns At A Wedding Or A Funeral?

I have never sung at funerals and there has never been singing at any of the weddings I’ve been to.

Many of the funerals I’ve attended have had a lady (usually) sat at the back of the church who will lead the singing.

Re: How Loud Do You Sing Hymns At A Wedding Or A Funeral?

I mumble them. I hate singing hymns as I always feel awkward about singing to God when I'm not sure I believe in it.
