I most certainly would not, he could have been a pickpocket or carrying a knife.....In the 21st century I find it hard to trust anyone.

It has nothing to do with fear or trust and one gesture cannot possibly build these.

I personally do not do knee jerk gestures and I find it a bit cringy to be honest and as I said slightly sad

I think they are not allowed to have any physical contact with men, no hand shake or anything, but not sure about other women. I remember a student at uni receiving an award and apologising to the presenter because she could not shake his hand.

Of course I'd embrace him, providing the wife didn't see me, she's an awful woman for getting the wrong idea.
