Pat darlin' - you're probably too young to have seen them, but many years ago there was a series of programmes on television showing us the underwater world of Hans & Lotte Haas.

Re: Hotel style rooms without a view.

I've seen them years ago in Japan but they are quite spacious compared to my son's "rack" on HMAS Anzac where he has just spent 6 months in the Gulf. Not for me I have to say.

A couple of years back I stayed at a hotel in the Genting Highlands in Malaysia, the room itself was OK but the window looked out to an identical window about 2 metres away, to the right and left were identical windows. For reasons known only to the architect(space) the skyscraper hotel had this sunless void in its centre purely to provde windows to the inner rooms. From memory check in took about an hour; not a place I want to go to again, its sole purpose is to provide accomadation for the casino.

I do recall them as I have seen clips of them... I feel I did not miss anything really, as to see the wonder of sea life, it has to be shown in colour....

After all the various reports about the way the police operate, the way any Muslim is believed above any non- Muslim (regardless of truth and forensic evidence etc etc) I would not go to Dubai if someone offered me the most fantastic expensive holiday for free!!

I think these would be a good idea as haas been said if you missed your last train or want somewhere cheap to stay for a night on the town. I think they were talking about these for London a few years ago. You would still get the idiots though that would abuse it.

Yes Pat darlin' I agree, but back in the good old days, colour television didn't exist and we only had two channels, BBC and ITV.

I've stayed at the Gatwick Yotel which is similar to this but does have ensuite shower room. It's extremely convenient and better value than elsewhere. Ok, only for sleeping while waiting for a connecting flight, but for that purpose what more do you need?

If sea levels continue rising, all hotel rooms in Dubai will have an UNDERWATER view.
