Re: dangerous escaped prisoner

Muddy is not wrong. When we had a prisoner in from Full Sutton prison - because he had swallowed a coupkle of batteries - he arrived handcuffed to a police officer with another police officer escorting him and a prison officer came with them. The transport they all travelled in was a police vehicle.

How long ago was that? Police officers don't handcuff themselves to any prisoners any more. It's a health and safety issued.

It depends on the prisoner's crimes, risk etc.

I'm going back to the 90's and a short spell in 2008/9 and movement of violent cons.
Sometimes we had police escorts, armed on occasion but this was for real nutjobs like Bronson and one called Noonan.

He was sprung by armed men so he never went anywhere without armed escorts.

Hi

If this is the same Noonan or a member of his family, you have my sympathy.

He was a major player in the riots...his nephew was the guy killede by police.

His brother was suspected of being behind 20+ murders and a major player in the Strangeways riots.
