On the slippery slope

Having seen two lots of consultants (last week and the week before) have today been visited by the District Nurse (again) who carried out an assessment for an oxygen cylinder. She tested my oxygen saturation level - it is well down - around 85 - 88% - far too low!!! so the upshot is - yes I have to have a small oxygen cylinder for use when I do go out.

Re: On the slippery slope

Sorry to hear that Uj, but if you use it it'll help, I know when my mum had to go onto it, it seemed end of the world but it really did make her feel much better and we got her out and about a lot more.

Re: On the slippery slope

I agree with Julie it will make you feel better , I had to go on Oxygen once when i was attending my Echo cardiogram appointment ,I was so out of breathe ,it taught me to slow down .
At least you can still go out and be independant.

Just hope it does the job and keeps you mobile.

It won't do much for my mobility - I'll have to cart an oxygen cylinder around with me in a back-pack every where I go.

Re: On the slippery slope

You'll probably get used to it Joe,

A mate of mine has had one for some time, although he needs it more when at home.

UJ

As you've probably gathered, I disagree with most of your political opinions, but nevertheless I was sorry to hear about your ill health

I do hope that the oxygen makes things easier for you, It looks like spring is very nearly here, so you'll be able to get out more

Best Wishes Zuludog

Re: On the slippery slope

Oh dear UJ, sorry to hear about this latest health problem.

Easy to say I know, but once you get used to the oxygen and how much better it makes you feel, I'm sure it will be worthwhile.

Take care. X

Re: On the slippery slope

With a little bit of luck I'll be able to attend more demonstrations and marches and so can be a lot more politically active.
