Re: Colonic Irrigation

My friend was told that Princess Diana had this often, also several well known people have it regularly. My friends stomach ' blew up' large several months ago, she went to A&E ,given laxatives , which made it worse, she went for a private consultation ,was given advice which helped her and the consultant referred her to his NHS clinic, it is he who ordered this irrigation, but his nurse refuses, she has told my friend she must continue with suppossetaries for 2 months.. I wanted my friend to complain but she is afraid of 'causing trouble' and what the nurse might say if she has to go back to her

Re: Colonic Irrigation

it sounds very odd that he referred her from his private practice to his own clinic in the NHS. The NHS don't do colonic irrigation, so it must be another treatment that's similar. She could always have it done privately.

Colonic irrigation? Pffft.

A Bradford vindaloo would do the trick. The next day you'd be doing the Aztec two-step. And an excellent cure for a cough, I assure you.

If the consultant ordered the procedure then she should have it done.
End of.
Call the consultant's secretary, tell her it can't be done as he ordered and therefore she must go private. Let them sort it out.

Being afraid of causing trouble and frightened of what the nurse might say is nonsense. The more trouble you cause the quicker it will be resolved!

And the consultant needs to know that his order was refused.

Re: Colonic Irrigation

My friend is definitely on the NHS. Its all been very complicated with ther, she went to A&E 1st,they just gave her laxatives, said it would clear, her Dr sent her to 1 hospital on NHS.to see a specialist, they told her there was nothing they could do, so she went for a couple of private sessions with a top consultant, she said she couldnt afford private treatment, after examining her the consultant referred her to his clinic at Hospital ,on the NHS, wanting her to have this colonic irrigation by his nurse, but ,as said , this nurse refuses to do it, my friend has to use a supposatary every morning ,then go back to see this nurse in 2 months time. I, & other friends, have told her she should complain to the consultant about his nurse, but my friend is afraid of any come back should she see this nurse again, however she promises me if she has any bleeding she will get back to the consultant again

Re: Colonic Irrigation

I understand that there are circumstances where it would be dangerous to perform a Colonic Irrigation.

All procedures carry risks.
