Hoorah! Ofcom Have Teeth After All !!

Have you ever been so frustrated and angry when you have mutually agreed a date with an engineer to call to fix a break in communications and the beggars have failed to show! Even though, like me in the past, you had to book a day off work for the appointment.

Well, it seems that Ofcom was waiting to see if communication companies would do as it requested and compensate customers for prolonged delays in dealing with such problems, but it seems it is not happy with their response to the request and now it is going to make it compulsory. About time too! For years Ofcom has been more than ruddy useless when it came to dealing with companies who disrespect their customers. But in the last couple of years, it appears that they seem to have learned that they are there for the customers and not as a mouthpiece for the communication companies.

I await the outcome with interest.

Interesting but touch wood most of my interactions with engineers for communications equipment have been fine, phone calls too.

Re: Hoorah! Ofcom Have Teeth After All !!

I read somewhere that OFCOM are pushing for a £10 a day fine for companies which fail to supply the contracted for service.

So that's £70 Virgin owe me SO FAR, and they've still not fixed my e-mail.

Multiply that by the number of other people in this area also suffering from the same outage, and VM are not going to be happy bunnies.

Perhaps a good kick up the fundament will give them a bit of encouragement,
