Yesterday

Hi

A total disaster, not been out and about for a few days, but set out for the Local Hospital for the usual Friday tests.

A 6 mile trip took 40 minutes, nobody there.

Found out the M6 was closed and mad traffic around here.

Picked up the day before's local rag, report of a double fatality earlier in the week.

A motorcyclist and a pedestrian, outside Villa Farm, where I fish.

The motorcyclist was named, I knew him, the pedestrian was not, turned out that he was a fisherman I know well, so very upsetting.

Tests not good, so had to go to the Specialists in Stoke.

Everything was gridlocked, told I would have to wait for hours for transport.

Set off in my own, using all the back roads, took 2 hours, an hours wait and another 2 hours back.

The results were not good, the infection following my abcess on my spine is back big time.

An independent git, no way was I staying in, so back home and laid up.

I totally understand Tpin, hospitals are dangerous places.

It's an odd thing when we are held up in a major traffic jam due to a fatality. It's a balance between being suitable annoyed and grateful that it wasn't us.

Re: Yesterday

Hi Gibbs I heard about the chaos on the M6 and surrounding area I understand it was something to do with an unstable bridge.
The M6 is a joke, all the money that is being spent on HS2 and there isn't even a decent motorway link midlands west going north . Opening up the M6 toll to all traffic would be a start.

Sorry to hear about your continuing health problems and the recent loss of your friends

Hospitals are not my favourite places even less so at the moment as a young family member and his wife were given the news out of the blue and quite callously that he is terminally ill and they can do nothing.
Going home and researching on their own they found a drugs trial and got him on it so he may have a little longer with his three young children.

Sometimes life can be harsh with depressing things every way we turn, don't let it get you down try and 'switch it off' for a bit when you can get out in your garden and enjoy the spring sunshine.

I hope you will be feeling better soon .

Re: Yesterday

Swim shouldn't an infection on your spine be treated with intravenous anti-biotic and don't you need to be in hospital for that?
I have enough problems trying to encourage Tpin to make sensible decisions..,. without having to deal with you too!
I know there are some risks regarding care in hospitals, but surely the greatest risk is an inadequately treated infection on your spine?
