Lately I have been getting woken up by what i thought was an owl but which turned out to be wood pigeon, I wouldn't mind if the bird started hooting at a reasonable time instead of what feels to me like middle of the night lol. Seriously though, I adore birds and my nephew has been clearing my garden today and he pointed out to me we have a nest and the wood pigeon has had babies, awwwww, I'm really happy to know mummy chose my garden to rear her young ones. Bless .

There are more Swallows at both racecourses now, but I haven't seen any at home.

A rare visitor to the UK, Terek Sandpiper.

the long slightly curved bill is diagnostic, the bird is mainly found from Finland through Northern Siberia, and winter on tropical coasts such as Africa and Australia.
