Re: I've had my chest x-ray

It’s a pity you are going to miss this lovely sunny weather but at least when you are back home you should be feeling much better and happy that it’s over!

I’m not good typing on my phone either but a short message just letting us know how you’re getting on will be good. As for your expensive watch, I think if you have somewhere safe to put it I would leave it at home, the hospital will not accept any responsibility for anything which may go missing and you may not be able to wear it all the time.

Very best wishes to you Ffosse, will be thinking of you.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

Thanks for the good wishes.

They've got a safe they can put things in, but then, why take it if it's going to be in a safe? I'll just wear my cheap watch.

I'll make sure I post on this thread. I hope they keep me in until Monday as I have an MRI then and wouldn't relish getting out on Sunday only to have to go back to the hospital the next day

Now I've just got to put my rubbish out in the wheelie bin.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

Got here OK. I'm in a small treatment room. I need 2 canulas -the first one was a success but the nurse has failed with 2 attempts to put a 2nd one in now. I'm to be continuously infused, this will make washing or changing clothes a task.

My Hickman line is good in that it is permanently in my chest and I don’t need a cannula, but the down side is that it can become infected so has to be flushed every week. The cannulas do make everyday jobs difficult but you’ll get used to them Ffosse.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

I'm back, hello both.
Sorry but I hate canulas, I know you need them, but like you Dreamy it is the failures that fill me with dread.
Val, you poor thing in your chest!

I will keep an eye on this thread.x

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

All they're doing today is hydrating me and getting my PH value of urine onto the alkaline side because I couldn't take all the bicarbonate of soda tablets before giving me the chemo tomorrow morning. They've still to do this but the ward is pretty busy.
