Definitely time to stop public funding of the search.
As has been said, the McCann's have their own fund to pursue it and now topping 11 million quid have far outstripped the resources pumped into other missing kids.

I'm sure the McCann's must rue, and will forever regret the day they went out drinking with their friends at cost of their own daughters safety.

I've been trying to find out what the money was spent on because it seems they haven't interviewed anyone present or any other suspects. So what has that paid for ?

Don't think this is a Mccain's bashing thread BUT

One does wonder why all this money is still being spent on finding her and all other missing children only a fraction is spent on finding them.

The only ones that haven't been ruled out......., perhaps this funding is because they are close to solving this case, that the Portuguese police solved over ten years ago.

It's not right that more public money is being spent. There are hundreds of missing children, what makes the McCanns anymore special than any other the others. If I were the parent of a missing child that the police had given up on I would be so upset knowing that yet more money is being spent looking for Madeleine. In my mind it's money down the drain as I can't imagine her ever being found alive. Obviously I hope I am wrong, but I doubt it.

There are in fact very few children missing by stranger .
Most missing children have been abducted by a parent .
