Toxic to Animals

We were just talking on the Gardening thread about plants/trees/shrubs etc that are toxic to pets, and I thought it might be helpful to post the link in this Pets section too.

Might be handy to look through for those of us who have animals, before we start re-stocking our gardens this year:

Re: Toxic to Animals

Thanks for that mups I've got a leaf nibbler and one that eats anything so it's really helpful having that list. My husband blames me for giving them so much vegetarian food

Re: Toxic to Animals

Thank you, Mups for this list... I had no idea that there were that many plants, seeds and roots, toxic to dogs...

Re: Toxic to Animals

I personally believe they should make plant labels MUCH clearer.
They have to put so much information on food labelling now, but sell toxic plants with either no warning, or miniscule wording which is barely legible.

I even wrote to my gardening magazine about this about a year ago, I feel that strongly about it.
It is not only about animals either, what about toddlers who pick up the pretty coloured berries and such?

I feel quite strongly about this.

That's true mups trouble in how big would the label be or would the write so small we could read it, some food labels are getting so tiny I'm struggling.

Re: Toxic to Animals

Gosh just about everything in the garden is toxic.
I always give my dog plenty of raw bones so he doesn't seem interested in plants.
