Ever heard of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act??? wherein sentences can be considered 'spent' after a period of time. So they are NOT criminals.

LMAO !!!!!

What a complete sack of useless spuds you are UJ.

So tell us, if a convicted paedophile does his time in prison and is released, should we then treat him as an ordinary human being, no longer a criminal and allow him to say take up a job in a primary school?!!!

Sometimes your nonsense reaches new levels.

But then such nonsense is clearly shared by the lunatic asylum that is the Looney Labour party because yes, they indeed do employ convicted criminals and put them in key posts regardless of their criminal bent.

Key example:

Marsha-Jane Thompson, a convicted election fraudster and Momentum campaigner.

She had previously admitted and been sentenced for registering fake voters in the east London borough of Newham, filling out and submitting more than 100 voter registration forms herself, including forging signatures.

Corbyn appointed her to office. She is a key member of his campaign team and a leader of Momentum.

Absolutely despicable and a perfect example of why this Looney Labour party under the leadership of the complete sham Corbyn, is never ever going to be fit to run the country.

Marsha-Jane Thompson

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/pol...for-fraud.html

"Pleaded guilty to 19 specimen counts of using a false instrument, contrary to the 1981 Fraud and Counterfeiting Act, and one count of false accounting under the 1968 Theft Act. She was convicted as Marsha Thompson and has since changed part of her name"

"sentenced to 100 hours’ community punishment after registering improperly completing details on the Electoral Roll for the east London borough of Newham."

"Ms Thompson was employed as a housing officer by Newham Council at the time she committed the fraud. In a statement, the council said that she had “submitted electoral registration forms for more than 100 different addresses which appeared to contain discrepancies"

"The Unison activist is a former supporter of Lutfur Rahman, the ex-mayor of Tower Hamlets who was removed from office after the election court found he used corrupt and illegal practices when seeking a second term in 2014. In 2010 she organised protests when Labour’s National Executive Committee dropped him as the party’s candidate for mayor."

What does that have to do with anything. I'm sure you realise that people who do stupid things are not the monopoly of any particular party. For every Conservative gaff I could point out just as many, if not more Labour ones

That being so, why so keen to point out that we should view Labour candidates as saintly yet view a Conservative candidate as weird and a scumbag for exhibiting stupidity? On second thoughts, I think we know the answer to that.

I suppose if you have a criminal record and you are finding it difficult to get employment, go work for the Labour party.

Re: Local election candidate suspended

From what i understand is that to withdrawn as a candidate from and election has to be done x number of days in advance. It is too late now for the kent election candidate to do that, so his name will appear on the ballot paper anyway
