Re: The things some dogs eat.

I had a border collie cross that used to dig up leeks and eat them, also loved carrots an apples. One of my cats likes peanuts!

Well I believe you now ! The ignore it approach hasn't worked, pineapple works only if we give it with each meal forget once and that's it all starts up again.

Good job we love her I keep telling her !

Seems from various sources feeding commercial kibble diet causes it, they are too rich and the taste of the food is in the poop - not tested that one myself. I am told a raw diet will stop it but being a vegetarian I can't bring myself to try that one.

Re: The things some dogs eat.

Some dogs are life-long poop eaters and it is not easy to stop them doing it once they start with the habit. Is Elsa a Labrador Julie? Labs and other gundog breeds are notorious for it.
Labs.and other retriever breeds are not usually at all fussy about what they eat, or how much - they always seem to be hungry.
Last week my golden retriever was busy hunting up in the fields and she came across a nest of baby mice - Quick as a flash she dug them all out and ate all but one before we realised what she was up to. (The one left wouldn't fare well either as not content with eating them she ended up by playing about with the nest, throwing it up in the air and catching it. In the end she carried it round with her, but I wasn't taking it home, so I made her leave it before we went home.

Yes she is a yellow Labrador, a dear lovely girl if she would just leave the poop alone !! She is particularly fond of Betty's poo (Chihuahua) seems to see it as a little snack !
