No. Not the birth of Prince Harry, but the day I got married.
After living together for two years, I decided that it was time to make an honest woman of her, and despite the fact we had lived in carnal sin for two years, I still had to observe the proprieties and get her dad's permission first.
So off we went to her mum and dad's house where I asked him. He said that he was glad someone was taking her off his hands at last (not really, but he was delighted for us ). Come the big day, we had a devil's wedding at the local registry office in town followed by a reception and then a night do at a club in town. We didn't get much of a chance to enjoy the night do because we were whisked away to the airport for our honeymoon. It was a right rollocking good do too by all accounts.
We touched down in Ibiza at god-knows what time of the morning, but the sun was nowhere to be seen, and we were both exhausted so just flopped down on our bed and had a good kip.
Anyhoo, this song was popular and was played everywhere on the Island. It just takes me back to a happier time.
We were married for twenty-one years before she succumbed to leukaemia. Happy Anniversary my love. Miss you every day.
