I think there should be some sort of probationary period for young drivers who have just passed their test with green plates like they have in some other countries.

I am not sure how they could police a restriction of newly passed young drivers driving family members only.

It could save a lot of young lads trying to impress young girls and causing accidents.
I still think the driving tests need to be made harder and a 'skid pan' session introduced.
