Re: Persimmon?

By the way you eat the whole fruit, don't peel it, every bit is edible, except the stalk of course.

Re: Persimmon?

Sharon Fruit.
Origin:- New Zealand and Israel.
A variety of Persimmon which may be eaten firm or soft.
This bright orange fruit has a thin edible skin and a very sweet-tasting flesh.

To Serve: Wash and remove stalk. The skin is edible and, as such, the fruit may be eaten like an apple.
Alternatively, slice and add to fresh fruit salads or use as a garnish. Available November to March; July - August.

Taken from the Mrs Fox book of fruit.....
I hate to say it but, Pummie is mixing it up with some other fruit....Come on Pummie....Keep up!

Now listen you lot, the mere suggestion that Pumicestone could err is unthinkable !
I know a bloody persimmon from a pomegranate from a kiwi-fruit, for godsake !

Fact is there are quite a few varieties and it seems we may be talking about different types.
If I knew how to post a pic, I would do so - but if you click on this you will see heaps of the beasties with large dark seeds.

I think it is:-

racist....a person who believes that a particular race is superior to another.

... and he was suggesting that Aussies have superior knowledge about Persimmons!
