I was three of them. And the third one I thought...hmmm, there's no way out for him, so will it happen? Oh yes, it has!!

Social media last night....cor, complaints were going into hundreds, if not thousands. Not visited FB yet this morning: heading over there now.

The upshot is, most viewers were shocked, horrified, sick, upset, and wanted the writers sacked!

Why? Because he shot Andy?

He'll be after Anna Windlass now.
We've still got to see what happens when poor old Eileen finds out too.

Re: Coronation Street

No, because we the viewers saw him locked up in a cellar for months and it seemed all for nothing. Unless it was a contrived storyline to get To Vinny.

I dunno. I'm still reading the comments on FB!

I wondered whether Andy will be found not quite dead further down stream?

Re: Coronation Street

It didn't shock, horrify or upset me. I'm pretty immune to TV violence, but he does do menace extremely well doesn't he? I'd like to see him in some romantic role like Mr Darcy - now that would be worth watching!

Re: Coronation Street

I found it quite interesting and exciting, contrary to all the whingeing I've heard on the social media.

We still find Coronation Street the best soap (apart from Wright's Coal Tar Soap, of course), but to be honest they keep shoving in boring 'fillers' - storylines that seem only to be there to take up some of the programme time. I thought this was one of the best storylines they've had and, of course, I'm sure it will continue to develop.

This Phelan character was an excellent idea: give the viewers someone to hate!

Re: Coronation Street

The opposite of JBR - I stopped watching EE many years back, as it was so dark and violent. Liked Corrie, because there was always humour and light-heartedness. For some weeks I have been recording episodes so that I could just fast forward any scene involving the character Phelen, but am now finding the whole soap boring, violent and nasty. So will give up watching it until they change their scriptwriters.

On the contrary, I think if you were to watch it you'd find there is still humour and light-heartedness. Admittedly, just recently things have become rather more serious, but I'd just say "give it time". I'm sure that humour will re-appear especially with Sally getting up to her 'political' activities, for example.

Re: Coronation Street

Here's a question for you soap fans . . .

Why are they called "Soaps?"
Any idea?

Re: Coronation Street

I think because initially, the theme of the show was set to appeal to ladies, who had to do the family's laundry and or washing up.
