Nevertheless, Michael's body is bound to be discovered before long. Phelan has made no effort to hide it... yet. Gary was in the yard earlier looking for Michael, and whats-her-name (the woman on crutches) knows that Michael went there, in fact he planned it with her.
I wonder if Phelan is going to bring forward his trip to Mexico before the body is discovered. Of course, he would deny all knowledge of it.

I know, but that wouldn't stop the police or someone seeing film of Phelan threatening Michael with the crow bar, would it?
