Feet.

I wondered if anybody on here goes to see a chiropodist/podiatrist regularly?

I've been trying to find prices on the internet & some of them are unbelievable - £50 for an initial half hour consultation!!
Crikey - are they worth £100 an hour?

I just want a simple treatment - hard skin removal and treatment for a soft corn between my toes that's hurting a bit. I'm dreading the charge but it needs to be done.

How much do you pay to get your feet done?

Re: Feet.

Carol my sister in Derbyshire gets chiropody treatment free on the NHS and goes to the local cottage hospital .
She doesn't have any ongoing medical conditions.
Try asking your GP about it.

ETA Carol just as an aside as you live in Derbyshire do you have a Gold Card from the council my sister has one and gets discounts in lots of shops etc..

Re: Feet.

Carol, where on earth are you finding those prices?? I go to a foot clinic near me, and pay about £25. (It went up not long ago, and that is OAP price.)

The alternative is finding a beauty bar that does nails. Some of them do pedicures.

The FC does the full whack and uses sophisticated stuff. After the knife, they use an electrically operated burr, sometimes with water. Only problem is, it burns, and I have to keep warning them off.

Re: Feet.

The one near me charges around £25 and she's a podiatrist. £100 seems a bit steep.

Re: Feet.

The NHS now look after my feet but before they did, about 3 years ago, I could get my nails cut and all hard skin removed, at a small private practice, for £23. I even had one who would come to the house to do the same treatment for £18.

Re: Feet.

My SiL is a chiropodist, works privately from home. She charges £30 (£25 for the over-60s) for an initial consultation, and £25 (£20) for subsequent ones. Each appointment is alocated 45 minutes, so she has plenty of time for any treatments.

Most of her clients are OAPs who just want want a glorified pedicure and/or treatment for their corns.
