Wow

Hi

I came across this.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-38594559

How can anyone get so fat?

She obviously cannot move, so her family must be responsible.

Re: Wow

That is shocking Swimmy.
I am amazed she is still alive, think of the strain on all her other organs and joints.

Re: Wow

Is that right? She weighs around 78 st

She's only 36 and hasn't left home for 25 years.
I've got no sympathy for her.

Disclaimer: I absolutely and totally deny the above ... I have bucketfuls of sympathy for her if it is the result of a medical condition ... though how she manages to sit up to eat could be a mystery in itself.

What a strange existence she must have.
I understand vastly overweight people get terrible sores in hidden places

Re: Wow

A bit more info ...

Lakdawala (her sister) told a medical website Eman was born weighing 5kg and was diagnosed with elephantiasis, a condition in which body parts swell due to a parasitic infection.

I wondered about how she goes to the toilet Mort. You could never move her to get her onto a commode or even a bed pan.

Hi

A condition which the new Specialist does not agree with.

Elephantiasis is treatable in most cases, and in any event affects primarily the limbs, from her photos, it is her trunk which is affected.

Both my kids were big babies, over 10ibs, Mum was a size 6.

Birthweight does not equate to permanent gross obesity.
