The last clip shows you why Grace Slick said that she didn't sing she just shouted.

Personally my favourite Jefferson Whatever_Incarnation is Side 2 of Blows against the Empire.

This is just part:

Good to see other contributions.

This chap certainly caught my attention, also Vincent Crane played keyboards, and later Carl Palmer was the drummer.

I was trying to find the 1971 San Diego version of CWYAE but it's not on YooToob, so here is the December 1972 version from Hallenstadion, Zurich which is probably my second favourite version. There are some stunning performances of this number from 1972. It's an audience recording but a very good one.

An obscurity from 1969. This was the B side of the single.

This is just frightening.

The Elevators' cd reissues are pretty much below par. Worth seeking out is
13TH FLOOR ELEVATORS The Essential 13th Floor Elevators {An Audiophile Compilation} but you won't find it in the shops.

Surprised there hasn't been any GD yet. Here's a rather delicious Dark Star from 1969.

And the Barton '77 Scarlet-Fire. Probably the best?

I think the lyrics could hint at something rude.

Re: Psychedelic, Acid, Garage, Bands.

Love the first two Soft Machine albums.

Here's the original band in concert on French TV in August 1968 (don't think the date is right as they were on the Hendrix tour and definitely played The Singer Bowl on August 23rd).

Set list

1. A Certain Kind 2. Save Yourself 3. Priscilla 4. Lullabye Letter 5. Hope For Happiness

And a wonderful Hope For Happiness from '67 in very, very groovy colour courtesy of French TV.
