Getting Geeky

Hi

I am nowhere near as Tech savvy as most on here.

I am determined to have a go.

I have bought a Google Home Mini.

My laptop does not have Bluetooth, so bought a Bluetooth Dongle as well, downloaded the Google App for Windows 10.

All I have to do now is set it all up and get it to work.

This could take some time.

Hi

Yes, but a little different,.

I have Alexa on my TV.

The mini is for lights etc.

The free phone calls are good as well.

Re: Getting Geeky

Why do you need Bluetooth, it should work on WiFi. I control some of my lights with my Amazon Echo - they plug into WiFi enabled socket adapters which are connected to the WiFi using an App on my phone. That App allows me to turn the lights on and off with my phone even if I aren't at home and also links into the Echo using a `skill` so I can use voice commands to control the lights when I'm at home.

I object to having to pay to be spied on. They should be paying you for having one in your home.
