I think Ant McPartlin's Drink Driving offence would fall into the Band C category (assuming he was a 1st time offender)
That would normally attract a sentence of between 17-22 months driving ban
plus a fine ranging from 125% to 175% of relevant weekly income, with a starting point of 150% of relevant income, and/or a community service order.
There are guidelines for discretionary adjustments where offenders relevant weekly income is unusually high or low.
I think Ant's sentence sounds about right for his circumstances and level of income. (Unless the TV company are continuing to pay him while he is not working, I don't suppose his current relevant weekly income will be as high now as it used to be?)
The report I heard mentioned that the fact he already did a lot of charity work was a factor in no community service being imposed as well.
