Hi

Insufficient Nitrogen, they are greedy plants.

Plenty of farmyard manure and then extra feed.

I collect the sheep droppings, put them in a barrel with rain water and then feed.

Great not only for rhubarb but also courgettes.

The rhubarb in my parents' back garden used to grow well in a shady spot by their back door.
When we used to drink tea made with loose leaves....that's where they emptied the pot afterwards!
I dont know if it made a difference but it certainly didn't do the rhubarb any harm

Thank You all for the advice.

I have hen poo but l think it has to be about a year old before you can use it as manure? Is that right?

Swimmy, Nettles grow like mad here, doesn’t that mean my soil is rich in Nitrogen?

I have taken a photo of the Rhubarb, l have just picked. I mean, look at the state of that...just about a mouthful to have with custard!!

I wouldn't use the hen manure unless it's well rotted, horse manure is best

I've plenty here if you want some
