There will be a sudden and miraculous flurry of "Private Healthcare" offers which the Sheeple will flock to. NHS will be dismantled. Job done.

Hopefully, those that can afford it will go private because of this emergency measure.
Luckily we have a maternity hospital that has a minor injuries dept. but only out of hours.
How is your husband Mags?
I managed to book my husband a doctor's appointment online last Sunday for yesterday morning (7:50am ) to get a growth on his face checked out .... his doctor said he would arrange an appointment with a hospital Dermatology department. This morning I received a call from the BRI to say they have an appointment for him this Friday morning! I couldn't ask for better service than that ... doctor appointment and hospital appointment in just three days! Brilliant!

Yes, I think you are right, Purwell. Grapefruit is not recommended with medications like Statins I believe.

Snap. I thought the exact same thing.
And by the time the government has finished the bar to qualify for free treatment would be set so low it would probably only be available to the unemployed.

Private hospitals don't have the facilities or staff to treat really serious medical problems .
As the rich pay into the NHS too why should they not be able to access it the same as anyone else ?
How would one differentiate ?
Often very weathly people do contribute by donating a wing or equipment or leaving a bequest when they die.

Most of the big teaching hospitals were founded in this way.

I mean that they do not have the specialists and operating set ups for serious operations.
Really serious /difficult operations need a entire team and dedicated after care .

They do....you can get private health treatment for surgical and non surgical conditions, plus many private hospitals have fully equipped intensive care facilities staffed with a dedicated team.
