Me too .. whatever her reasons, if the mother felt strongly enough to exclude her daughter that is entirely her choice, and her right.
It was afterall .. the mother's money to distribute as she saw fit.
I've got no kids but I've got a pesky brother and sister I'd want to exclude so I don't like the sound of this.

Nothing to do with money but I had a girl friend for 10 years. Her dad was an angler-he loved a certain river. He died too soon and I was informed his ashes were not spread on the river.

Is that respect? He wanted to go to that river-you said no

Could be the law stopped that, I know when a friend tried to lay her husbands ashes where he wished there was a law forbidding it and she had to find somewhere else to do it. No lack of respect just obeying the law.
