I actually think what Julie says has a point .Instead of trying to stop the end of the line ie; what do we do once they are here..If we were to look at why they come and what we as one human race could do to help or make the journey less desirable it might have better long term results.
We all know that aid doesnt really work, sending bags of flour and blankets just makes aid dependant nations so isnt it time that the root causes were looked at and addressed. Many of the countries people flee from are not poor but they have been made poor.
Bad governments , bad investments , westeren countries stripping their land and when they kick out thier white westeren suppressors they get a nice home grown dictator who continues to keep them poor..
Not an easy solution but maybe instead of looking at what we do this summer we should be thinking about how to prevent next summer and the one after and the one after that ........

and now they are squabbling in the EU saying "we don't want mandatory allocations of immigrants it must be voluntary" what does that mean if I don't want to volunteer I don't have too?so poor old Italy and Greece are left carrying the baby and the bath water!
Now if only there were a way of making money out of taking refugees the tables would be turned!

I think there's a "grand plan" lurking in this country. If you make it difficult for the less well off to live and stop child benefits etc. eventually there will only be rich people, these people will need people to do menial, low paid jobs as they won't want to do them. So they'll have to get them from other countries, therefore creating a small version of the old Empire without leaving the country!28-06-2015, 03:55 PM
