Nice song that Sweetie. I don’t really like musicals but Calamity Jane had some terrific songs in it, my favourite was the “Black Hills of Dakota”
Hummm, “The Windy City” recorded on the Batchelor label, just hope that doesn’t get them talking about farting again.

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

Hello guys
I have a question for you all.
My hubby suffers from a bad back, so, not that long ago I bought a new mattress. Well, it is too soft, it is like sleeping on a rolling ship, as he does fidget at night. So I sent him to buy another firmer one. He came home with a heavy duty sack trolley and a whole load of emergency lighting!
We do live in a flat, but a sack trolly!!!!
I really cannot understand men! Please explain why you cannot follow instructions. Sack trolly another thing for the man shed grrrrr

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

A sack trolly is very useful Sweetie, even in a flat, it’s great for moving wardrobes, armchairs, and other heavy items around without putting any pressure on ones back, handy thing to have, especially when we’re all getting on in years.
We have a huge mattress, not my choosing, but you could sleep six in the bed, it takes over an awful lot of room space. As far as I know it was an expensive thing, it’s very hard (herself suffers from back pain now and then, that’s why she got it) we have it about six years now and we both sleep well on it.

And now a change as requested by Gumbud,
Google it as sung by Like Kelly of the Dubliners, have a listen and weep, ya sentimental old git.

T. Duggins - I Wish I Was Back In Liverpool

I wish I was back in Liverpool
Liverpool town where I was born
Where there ain't no trees, no scented breeze
No fields of waving corn
But there's lots of girls with peroxide curls
And the black-and-tan flows free
Where there's six in a bed by the old pierhead
And it's Liverpool town for me.

Gummy, what was that song about Parkey Laney Street?, we had a Liverpudlian Music Teacher who taught it us. I remember one line was "so to cut down the cost, they got married in a Mosque, now they all live down Parkey Laney Street".

Did you tell him specifically NOT to buy a sack truck? Well did you? I thought not, so don't blame the poor chap if you didn't give him clear and concise destructions on what not to buy.
It's no different to when womens come home with loads of clothes and shoes they don't need and then say, but they were on sale. Look how much I've saved!

Anyway, you never know when a sack truck is going to come in useful. You can wheel your hubby from room to room when he has a bad back, or to the pub, or better yet, wheel him back again from the pub so he doesn't fall over. You just aren't seeing the bigger picture here.
