Oscar Pistorius

His lawyer has him walking without his prosthetics today.
This is a desparate ploy .
On the other hand I don't see any point in sending him to jail
Would he not be better as an example of the consequences of wrong doing perhaps doing some sort of work with the disabled ?
How best would justice be served?

Re: Oscar Pistorius

Listening to his lawyer over the past few days I think one thing he has forgotten a very important person, the dead woman ! Doesn't matter how sorry how affected the person who killed her feels he has killed someone who has no chance to feel anything again.

Re: Oscar Pistorius

I agree he has taken life and nothing will bring back that life .
So capital punishment is judicial retribution .
Failing that what is the point of putting him in jail ?
He will be a burden on the state for decades .

I think jail is the right place taking another life doesn't help and makes us murderers too.

Re: Oscar Pistorius

I watched the scene of him walking on his Stumps and I think to use the ploy of Showing a disabled person is way out of line , this is to gain a world wide sympathy vote for Pistorius.
If he was so afraid of intruders why did he go looking for them , instead do what most would have done and phoned Police .

Let him go to jail like any other person who takes a life .Otherwise what message is it sending out ? ..Well to me it says if you are disabled you can take the law into your own hands and shoot to kill anyone in your home ..

Let's hope justice is served here. It was so upsetting to see her father speak in court yesterday. A broken man.

He's a pathetic creature that deserves no better than life in the nick. Bang him up and throw away the key.

Re: Oscar Pistorius

Haven't seen anything about the case recently, it seems to be the never ending story .

I have and still maintain...
If you were in bed with someone and you heard a noise in the bathroom you would wake that person/ tell them to stay there you were going to look/ring the police

If you shoot a gun into a confined space because you hear a noise you must know if someone is in that space there is a good chance you will cause them some serious damage. Therefore harming them it is not an 'accident' but a calculated decision.

Re: Oscar Pistorius

I hope he goes to jail.....any other sentence will set a dangerous precedent.

It could even tempt a few disabled people to shoot their carers
