I used to grow Hostas and the slugs and snails dined out well on them. I tried every treatment going to beat them but failed, so I stopped growing Hostas.

I was and still am loathe to use pellets as they have such a knock on effect on the environment.

I do see the occasional hog in the garden at night during the summer and I suspect there are more around than I realise as the dog quite often stands and listens in the garden for no apparent reason, I'm sure she can hear them.

I have never seen a Leopard slug,they are one of the biggest i believe.
