Lol! They did have a word to reassure me that it wouldn't happen. You watch, I'll post my No.1 album and they'll release the best album anyone has ever heard.

There was a documentary on BBC 4 last night ..Jeff Beck, his music and the work he is doing with new young musicians, I forgot how good he was.

It's quite funny to see all the praise heaped on them now, but when I was growing up nobody but nobody would admit they liked Abba. It was so uncool.

I dunno, depends on your friends I guess

Ive always loved Abba, was too young to ever have been allowed to one of their concerts so went and saw the movie a zillion times at least

My peers were also Abba fans. We loved other music as well but Abba was always there

Re: ABBA are back!!

I was never an ABBA fan. I preferred Stones, Who, Roxy, etc .....

However, I always watched TOTP whenever Agnetha's bottom was due to make an appearance .....

Well where I was growing up in the era of punk and ska, you did not mention Dancing Queen (my favourite)! It was ok to like soul or funk, and Blondie was allowed, but not Abba.

It's so funny how all these secret Abba fans came out of the closet after Mamma Mia came out.

I know what you mean .... when they bought out Fernando , it was a little 'mimsy'. That's to say ... 'shopping trolley music' , lightweight, easy bop along, sweet and sickly.. A cut above Dawn and Bucks Fizz and Brotherhood of Man but still ... commercialised Top 20 pop.
I loved Waterloo and a few other notable tracks. My mum loved them, mind, she also loved the Carpenters and The New Seekers with their 'I'd like to teach the world to sing'.
