Re: swollen stomach

I've had blood transfusions before - usually a unit or two. Takes 2 hours or more.

deylon, This protein is released by cells in the stomach. When the stomach does not make enough intrinsic factor, the intestine cannot properly absorb vitamin B12. Common causes of pernicious anemia include: Weakened stomach lining (atrophic gastritis)

same as me but i had pain right up the centre of my chest, it was reflux not a heart attack as first thought. Same operation and now ok, just have to be careful of eating fatty foods

Re: swollen stomach

What Sarah is describing sounds more like ascites. It can have many causes. The scan should diagnose the cause and then with the right treatment it should be resolved.

deylon have the doctors been told about your swollen abdomen? It can lead to difficulty breathing when lying down.

Re: swollen stomach

forgot to say have prolapse and have plastic ring inserted - pessary am sure that thing causes the trouble but doc doesn't recommend hysterectomy and wouldn't want it - what a mess - the cause of all this was taking co codamel when not prescribed - cause constipation and then pushing caused the prolapse - my fault - cocodamel three days only - I ignored it.
