Here we are, Golden Gloucestershire Pie...hope you can read it...but I muck about with recipes, I don't buy coley, always get cod, use semi skimmed milk, smoked haddock, chopped up h/b egg, butter for the sauce etc.

But you get the idea!!
And it's very yummy

Re: Fish pie

I use a classic bechmel, using the milk I poach the fish in with an addition of an onion, a bay leaf and a few peppercorns whilst poaching

Fish is what ever I have but usually a smoked, a white and salmon and if I've any some tiger prawns or crayfish or a bit of lobster ( great dish for putting together bits of reduced fish that are too small for a serving on their own )

If the parsley is doing well then I add a good handful of that finely chopped

A couple of just set eggs quartered

And creamy buttery mash with good strong cheddar topping

Pure comfort on a plate

I do the same using fresh haddock . It is my youngest granddaughters 'favourite meal in the whole world' I think that is something to do with my giving it to her when she was tiny, it is now associated with feeling loved and secure.

I know the weather has turned chilly again - but - jumpers? In a fish pie?

Re: Fish pie

Although, l love cooking, l have never made a Fish Pie! I really must make one sometime.

Rhian, lf anyone is interested in the Spanish Fish Pie l had. The Sainsbury’s recipe for it, seems to be exactly the same as l had on Friday night.
