Isn't it just London? There is already a sizeable petition to overturn this. Lots of people rely on Uber. That includes the drivers providing the service.

No, we have 'em here too - but now TfL have banned them, perhaps our city council will also follow suit.

Their safety measures fall WAY short.
No proper background checks on the drivers. Eeeek

Here you go...sexual assaults and no proper background checks... 32 rapes and assaults in a year.
I'd rather pay more and have properly licensed black cab.

Also no vehicle safety checks other than the Mandatory once a year Council one.

Unannounced checks during the evening and nights when most taxis are working used to be once a month , joint operations with VOSA, Licensing and the Police, now very rare due to the cuts.
