Re: Attractive v unattractive

Studies have shown that if a tall man versus a short man applies for a job, more than likely, the tall man gets chosen. Many times is more about perception than smarts

I have often considered wearing a bag over my head because I'm very shy; but that would have drawn more attention, which is something I've never wanted.

As for 'doors opening' for attractive people, I think that depends on one's chosen career and I can't say my attractiveness has helped in any way .... hmmmmm I shall ponder further.

Yet, I think many unattractive babies and children grow up pretty and the pretty one's change and they aren't so pretty/handsome as they grow up!
When I was expecting my first baby I followed a woman who was pushing a pram with the most beautiful baby girl sitting up in the pram. I thought to myself, I hope I have a baby as beautiful as that. Years on, I saw the 'beautiful' baby. Oh dear, what happened?!!

OK .... after further 'ponderance ....

What IS attractiveness ? My late FIL was fairly ugly but an amazing man who attracted women, probably because of his manner, or ? charisma ? unsure.

Women were always taken with him, but not because of his looks.
There was something special about him ... quietly spoken, nice sense of humour, highly intelligent. A gentleman in every sense of the word and always kind. I never heard a cross word from him.

The sort of person anyone would feel safe with.

I guess his unnasuming, quiet, calm nature and confidence radiated from him.

It's probably the Beholder that's the problem, I mean, Beauty, I'm a sucker for it, can't help it, luck follows, when you find something behind the façade as well.
